The Global Environmental Change Focus Group sponsors the Stephen Schneider Memorial Lecture at the Fall AGU meeting. The 2015 lecture will be presented by Dr. Donald Wuebbles, the Harry E. Preble Endowed Professor in the Department of Atmospheric Sciences and Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, on “Extreme Weather in a Changing Climate”, on Tuesday, December 15 from 1:40 PM to 2:40 PM in Moscone West 2022-2024.
Dr. Schneider, the Melvin and Joan Lane Professor for Interdisciplinary Environmental Studies, professor of biological sciences, professor (by courtesy) of civil and environmental engineering, and a senior fellow in the Woods Institute for the Environment at Stanford University, died on 19 July 2010 at the age of 65 while traveling in Europe.
The lecture will be recorded for later viewing and will also be viewable remotely in real time using the AGU Virtual Option. Further information about how to access this option will be posted here at a later date.
